ACCIDENTS IN THE SKY

3 Questions (NTSB)

with ANJET CEO, Anthony Newcombe

Aircraft accidents

Q1: What do you make of all of the recent aircraft crashes? (Quinn A., Paramus, N.J.)

A: Thank you for your question Quinn. First of all, our hearts go out to all of the victims and family members of those affected by the recent air mishaps that have transpired.

Everything from aircraft maintenance issues, air traffic controller errors, pilot negligence, weather (as well as other “unmentionables”) – have been assigned blame as “direct and/or indirect causes of accidents.”

Q2: So, where do that leave us?

As always, we should continue to exercise our collective patience and await the official causes of each accident by the FAA, NTSB and other designated authorities on each case.

Until then, all we can do is speculate. Unfortunately, when it comes to these matters, speculation has proven to be both dangerous and inaccurate more often than not.

Books: What I’ve been reading in ’25

I dug into The Cartel by Don Winslow last month. This novel is an interesting fictional deep dive into the FBI/D.E.A. agents, king pins (and their loved ones) – as well as the symbiotic relationship between the U.S., Mexico, and the broad and complex scope of the lives (and deaths) of those involved. Definitely a worthwhile read!
